However the higher the resolutions the less bottleneck, because then the gpu will be more taxed, but i don't think you will be playing at 2500 x 1600 and even then the hd 7970 is such a beast of a card, you will still need to upgrade your cpu to avoid any bottlenecks.

The FX 6100 is fine for gaming. I never said there wouldn't be some kind of bottleneck. I said it will be fine and it would help it more if he overclocked it. It will definitely be very playable with a 7970.
