Support on their website states that fact specifically and then offers a ridiculous work-around involving exporting to a CSV file. Why, when I upgraded from the previous version to v. 5.5, the types didn’t tranfer is a mystery. This is but one example of the glaring deficiencies in mSecure. After exchanging multiple emails with support, which were generated as a result of this review — I was able to export everything from MSecure 3 to a csv file and ten import the csv file into MSecure 5. Waste of tiem and effort but the software if finally working as I had hoped.

One of my favorites, though is mSecure, which costs less and isn’t burdened with too many features or a long learning curve.

Developer Response Hi nickelodeon62 - Thank you for your review. I apologize that Wifi synch has not been released yet. We are still working hard to implement Wifi synch in an upcoming release and thank you for your patience!

At launch you'll be asked for a master password and then presented with the main menu. This will contain lists of your logins that you can toggle by either name or type view.

As an iPhone user for 10 years, when I shop for applications I really depend on, I will NOT even consider an application that has not been updated in the past year (at LEAST!). Because it means the developer doesn’t care, and eventually the app will not work anymore. The latest updates now make this 100% FIVE STARS because there is nothing to complain about. They have iCloud sync, and all the other syncing capabilities everyone asked for.

This is where you’ll need a little information about the new Mojave OS. Welcome to the Dark Side Before you can experience mSecure’s Dark Mode, you will need to upgrade to macOS Mojave. You will also need to upgrade to mSecure 5.6. While this new version of mSecure will run on older versions of macOS, Dark Mode is only supported in Mojave.

1Password vs. MSecure: Accounts, logins, and auto-fill 1Password allows you to add several types of credentials, logins, and forms. Logins, namely web logins, are the ones you'll likely use the most. You can sort them by domain or title, and 1Password can use them to log you into your sites using the embedded web browser.

MSecure combines them instead. Tapping the lock button in the lower bottom right corner will lock mSecure instantly requiring a password for re-entry. Clicking the info button will launch settings. From here you can do things such as change lock timeout, set up sync, change fonts and themes, and more.

When it comes to interface and ease of use, mSecure and 1Password sort and manage passwords and credentials in the most efficient and user friendly ways while LastPass needs some organizational work. Tie, 1Password and mSecure.

On many occasions this app has saved me significant amounts of heartache and frustration! While it is not the most beautiful app I own, IT IS one of the most important. A beautiful app with no usefulness has little value, unless its purpose is to be beautiful. And even these apps frequently require account info. The ability to add fields of my particular type and design is especially important as it allows me to quickly and easily include information about the account, service, subscription, etc., that is not included in the provided template.

I had read many reviews discussing the problems and ‘bugs’ of the newest version, so needless to say, I was apprehensive because my previous version of mSecure worked so well. I can tell you that I am more than pleased with mSecure 5! The look and feel of the app is great.

Improved printing - Added 1Password importer - Implemented password strength meter in detail view - Added ability to change username from app - Implemented key search when search field doesn’t have focus - Added custom fields importing/exporting via CSV - Implemented saving/restoring type/group selections - Fixed that if MacBook lid is closed, Touch ID isn’t available - Added GDPR compliance - Added reveal button in detail view to reveal single sensitive field - Performance improvement for very large notes - Other minor bug fixes • 5.5.3 Mar 29, 2018. We've received a ton of great feedback from you these last few weeks -- thank you! It helps us make mSecure better.

Next, you will need to switch to Dark Mode in your Mac’s Preferences. Open the Preference app, click General, then click the dark image at the top of the window and you will see your Mac change from Light to Dark Mode. This is a system-wide change, so at this point, all of your apps that support Mojave’s Dark Mode feature will now be displayed with a dark theme. Font Size Update We’ve also listened to your feedback and have reduced the font size and spacing of records in mSecure’s main view (for both Light and Dark Modes).

However, the power of mSecure allows you to add your own custom types. Each type can have an unlimited number of fields and icon of your choosing. With mSecure’s well-designed interface customizing your data has never before been faster or easier.

MSecure's iPhone app will cost you $9.99 but is a universal app for both iPhone and iPad. If you've got a Mac or Windows PC, the desktop variant will cost an additional $19.99 to complete the suite. While it can add up over time, LastPass' subscription can't be beat for first time users.

It doesn't have a feature showing how good the password is but provides many more options to suit any password requirement you may have to meet. MSecure also allows you to generate random passwords but through an individual login. When adding a login or credential you can choose the key icon in the password field to be taken to the random generator. From here you can choose to toggle between upper and lowercase, numbers, special characters, and password length.

Security is constantly at war with convenience. Having unique, strong passwords for all your online accounts sounds great until you realize how tedious it is to implement them and how impossible it is to remember them. Because your iPhone is always with you, however, and because it has some truly great password management apps like 1Password, LastPass, and mSecure, it can be the ideal way to maximize security and minimize convenience. Not only that, password managers can be a great place to store all your secure information, including credit and debit cards, private notes, software licenses, and more. They can also help you generate and help you implement all your super strong, super secure passwords. Download medal of honor for mac Considering the we've seen recently, you should absolutely start using a password manager, but which one should you use?

Still disappointed that I ever committed to MSecure based on their lack of customer focus. Developer Response Thank you for your review, and I'm sorry to hear about what happened when your data was transferred over from the old mSecure app. I'm not sure what happened, but we should be able to help you reimport the data to try and fix the problem if you still have access to it in the old app or if you have a backup of the data. Please contact us on our support forum - discussions.msecure.com - or via email - support@msevensoftware.com - and we will do everything we can to get the issue resolved. BC Cloutier Mediocre solution I’ve used the last two versions of mSecure and, while adequate, the app lacks several features and the architects are tone deaf. The one feature mSecure doesn't offer that may be a deal breaker for some users is the ability to launch a login from within the app and have it autofill for you. The only option currently present is to copy the data to a clipboard. You will then need to enter Safari or the, navigate to the URL of the login, and use the pasted information where needed. Even though it can't add or auto-fill forms from iPhone, LastPass only allows you to edit and view form data while mSecure doesn't support forms via the iPhone app at all. When it comes to organizing and using accounts, logins, and forms, 1Password does the best job.
